The 47th Annual PSRFA Conference is set for September 28-29, 2023, at the Red Lion Hotel, Harrisburg, Pa. This year’s theme is Empowering the Village.

The conference will start with a luncheon on Thursday, September 28th. Our keynote speaker this year will be Dr. John DeGarmo. John is a dynamic speaker and informative trainer on the foster care system, and travels extensively, meeting with foster parents, child welfare workers, churches, schools, and organizations.

The conference registration fee includes 10 hours of training, refreshments at breaks, four meals, and networking with other resource families throughout Pennsylvania.

Thursday night’s dinner will be an opportunity for all to sit back and relax, and join us for the Annual Silent Benefit Auction for the PSRFA Scholarship Fund. Proceeds from the auction are the major sources of funds that PSRFA uses to provide scholarships to graduating seniors who are foster, adoptive, or biological children of foster parents.

You will notice a few changes to our conference this year. PennDOT secured our building for demolition due to highway expansion. Unfortunately, the timeline changed drastically. The packaging of our organization and all its our contents has been monumental to say the least. Due to this we have had to make a few changes for the conference.

The most prominent being Friday evening dinner. To accommodate the changing needs of the families we will be closing the conference after the closing session.

Also, this year we will have a silent auction as time and space have not been available to prepare auction baskets. There have also been several changes to our conference schedule. Due to the move, we have had to put the company store on hold, as we didn’t
have access to storage space for all the items we normally sell. Next year we will be back to normal.
